Market Commentary

After sustaining major losses in the first half of the year, US equities staged a big comeback in July, driven by the performance of the technology sector and anticipation of a potential slowing in the pace of future rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

The S&P 500 had a gain of 9%, while the S&P Mid Cap 400 and S&P Small Cap 600 performed slightly better.

International equities started to reverse YTD declines and begin recovering, with Europe gaining 4.85%.

All factor indices posted gains, with High Beta and Growth in the lead.

All sectors had gains, with Consumer Discretionary and Technology leading.

US Fixed Income performance was positive across the board.

Commodities performance was mixed.
